An original antique ad . . . carefully removed from a bound publication from 1907 . . .

The First National Bank of Oregon, originally established in Portland in September 1865, was the first chartered national bank west of the Rocky Mountains, starting with $100,000 in capital. Located in downtown Portland, the historic First National Bank Building is a recognized landmark. It later operated as a major financial institution in the region.

It was eventually absorbed through mergers and acquisitions to become part of a larger national institution. It transitioned through rebranding and ownership changes over the decades, ultimately becoming part of what is now Wells Fargo
