Delightful lot of 2 vintage Alfred Mainzer dressed cats postcards featuring artwork by Eugen Hartung.

This lot features two vintage Alfred Mainzer dressed cat postcards rendered in the iconic, humorous style of artist Eugen Hartung.

Card 1 (No. 4971): Depicts a chaotic bathroom scene with dressed cats taking a bath, playing with goldfish, and splashing around the sink and tub.

Card 2 (No. 4972): Depicts dressed cats enjoying a day on the lake water-skiing, wearing swimsuits and executing tricks.

Both cards feature Mainzer's signature scalloped/deckled border and were printed in Belgium. Card 4971 is postmarked West Groton, MA (1979) with a 15¢ Oliver Wendell Holmes stamp and handwritten message. Card 4972 is unposted with minor pencil pricing on the reverse.

Corner Wear: Light edge and corner wear appropriate for age; deckled borders remain clean.

Creases: No heavy creasing observed on either card.

Surface Condition: Bright, vibrant colors on fronts with clear imagery.

Writing/Postmark: Card 4971 has handwritten ink message, postmark cancel, and a 15¢ stamp on back; both cards have light pencil marks ($4.00) on reverse.

Defects: Minor age toning on the reverse sides.
