A rare, unusual and beautiful model marine steam boiler.

Made from folded and soldered copper, it is 6¾" long, 4" wide and 7½" tall inclcuding the chimney. Bright lacquered finish with two level taps, filler plug (raised on a tube to bring it up above deck level), a spring balance safety valve and regulator tap.

It could date from any time from the 1870s to the 1920s, the catalogue illustration in the last photo is a Gamages publication from 1924 but similar boilers are shown in Stevens' Model Dockyard catalogues and The Model Dockyard Handy Book.

In lovely original finish with no dents or other damage, ideal for display.
