A Bohemian vase in black glass from either the Harrach or Moser factories in Bohemia, circa the nineteenth century, 3rd quartile, with outstanding hand-enameled decoration of a bird, maybe a kingfisher, hovering above a few flowers. The detail is excellent, a tribute to the work of the factory. The pontil on the underside shows a painted 9 or 6.
Condition: a small upper rim chip, and scratches over the surface, including the inner opening. Rubbing to the gilding due to handling by diligent maids and housewives over many decades.
Size: 34 cm high, 13 cm diam, weight is 950 g.
Please view all the photos before purchasing, they complete the description. While I do my best to reproduce the true colours of the pieces, they will vary slightly from system to system, and in actual viewing they will vary under differing lighting. All white spots are purely light reflections from the camera flash.
