A stunning set of three authentic Art Deco era glass buttons, likely of Bohemian/Czech origin.

​These buttons are crafted from a vibrant, "forest green" glass. The geometric, rectangular shape is typical of the 1920s-1930s modernist movement. Unlike plastic, these glass buttons have a distinct weight, a cool-to-the-touch feel, and a bright "clink" when tapped together.

​In the early 20th century, the Jablonec region of Northern Bohemia was the world leader in decorative glass buttons. These specific buttons feature a Silver Overlay (or "silver wash") technique. During the Art Deco period, manufacturers used these metallic accents to mimic the look of expensive platinum or silver jewelry, making everyday garments feel more luxurious and avant-garde.

• ​Surface: The glass retains a high gloss and deep color. The silver-tone accents show some authentic vintage wear, which is common for "wash" finishes of this age.

• ​Notes on Wear: * One button is in excellent vintage condition.

• ​Two buttons have small "fleabite" nicks or dents along the edges. Because these are glass, these nicks often appear as tiny matte chips (please see photos). These are minor and do not affect the structural integrity of the shanks.
