The Robin SmartPAT 3000 is a classic, entry-level dual-voltage Portable Appliance Tester (PAT) widely used in the UK for checking the electrical safety of workplace equipment. Though older, it remains popular on the secondary market for its durability and simple operation.
Key Capabilities
Dual-Voltage System: It tests both 240V commercial/office equipment and 110V construction site power tools. (Note: It must be plugged into a 110V supply to test 110V items).
Core Safety Tests:
- It performs Earth Bond Resistance testing,
- Insulation Resistance testing,
- and phase-to-neutral continuity checks.
Asset Variety:
It safely inspects Class I (earthed) and Class II (double-insulated) appliances, alongside dedicated IEC extension leads.
This particular unit comes with a 240v plug, earth bonding lead an operators manual and a guide book.
I have tested it and it seems to perform well but will perhaps need calibration.
