This listing is for a 'Smiths ATH 6' Venture, Hand Held Tachometer, still in it's original blue velveteen lined hard shell fitted case, with it's four attachments, and a 'Directions for Use' metal plate in it's lid. The Tacho has a 72mm diameter face, the case is 185mm long x 102mm wide x 60mm high including it's handle, and it has a sprung brass clasp. It is in A1 condition, with no signs of wear, and would make a useful piece of home / garage tech. It would date from around the 1960s / 70s and would have been used to measure rotational speeds (RPM up to 10,000), cutting speeds, and surface speeds in engineering and workshop settings.
