Model # 8040 – Ealdorman Dagger | By Impact Cutlery

Only one knife made.

The Ealdorman Dagger draws its identity from the distinguished heritage of Anglo-Saxon England. Named after the historic title Ealdorman, traditionally associated with a high-ranking noble or regional leader, this handmade piece combines an unmistakably classical European dagger profile with refined natural materials.

Its long, symmetrical double-edged D2 Tool Steel blade features a satin finish and a pronounced central fuller extending along much of the blade. The clean geometry, narrow proportions and elongated point give the Ealdorman the balanced appearance associated with traditional European daggers.

A richly figured rosewood handle introduces warm brown and reddish tones against the bright steel fittings. The polished stainless steel guard and rounded pommel complete the understated, traditional presentation.

Handle:

The handle is individually shaped from rosewood, selected for its naturally rich grain and deep brown coloration. Its gently rounded profile provides a clean transition between the polished guard and pommel.

Natural variations and darker streaks remain visible throughout the wood, giving the handle an individual appearance rather than the uniform character of a synthetic material.

Blade:

The centerpiece is the approximately 10.30-inch double-edged blade, handmade from D2 Tool Steel and given a smooth satin finish.

A long central fuller is precisely formed into the blade, emphasizing its length and symmetry while adding a distinctive traditional detail. The fuller terminates neatly before the point, allowing the blade's converging geometry to remain visually clean and pronounced.

Sheath:

A fitted brown leather sheath accompanies the dagger. It features contrasting stitching around the perimeter and a retaining strap with metal press-stud closure.

The warm leather complements the natural rosewood handle and provides a traditional presentation for storage and display.

Normal wear includes blemishes, tarnish, rust, scratches, blade chips, broken tips, edge dings, and dents. Impact knives are not designed to be used as hammers, chisels, pry bars, or screwdrivers. Damage caused by misuse or accidental impact is excluded, but may be repairable for a reasonable fee.

Natural materials—such as bone, horn, or wood—may crack, shrink, or develop other changes over time due to temperature, climate, and age; these are not covered under the lifetime warranty. No knife maker can guarantee against the natural aging of organic materials.

Care of Your Fine Custom Knife
  1. Never store the knife in a leather sheath.
  2. Never leave the knife wet.
  3. Apply oil/wax after use and before storing.
