Description:
Planar-Ama is a substantial abstract composition dated May 1988 and executed in oil or acrylic on canvas. The work presents an intricate arrangement of geometric structures, interconnected pathways and vibrant colour fields, combining technological and organic visual references within a carefully organised composition.

Dominated by vivid blues, greens, yellows, oranges and reds, the painting incorporates microchip-like forms, rectilinear networks and flowing curvilinear elements. A sweeping blue ribbon-like structure traverses the composition, while a central circular motif provides a visual anchor amongst the surrounding architectural and system-based forms. The painting displays a strong graphic quality and reflects late twentieth-century interests in technology, systems theory and the relationship between human-made and natural structures.

The original presentation plaque describes the work as an "original work depicting integration of man made micro systems with natural organisations", providing direct insight into the artist's intended concept.

The canvas measures 39.6 by 59.4 in. (100.5 by 151 cm). The work is signed "SCOTT" lower left and further signed and dated "PAT SCOTT 1988" to the stretcher verso. It is presented in a silver-coloured metal frame measuring 41.7 by 61.4 in. (106 by 156 cm) and retains its original inscribed plaque.

The history of the painting is not fully documented. It was acquired several years ago by the present owner at a local auction. Further research undertaken at the time linked the work to an earlier auction dispersal of contents associated with an academic or educational figure, although no records have been retained and the relevant auction references can no longer be located online. Consequently, this possible association cannot now be verified and should be regarded as unconfirmed. No additional provenance documentation accompanies the painting.

Despite research into the artist's identity, no definitive attribution beyond the name "Pat Scott" has been established. There is currently no evidence linking this work to the Irish artist Patrick Scott (1921–2014), and the painting is therefore catalogued simply as a work by "Pat Scott" pending any further information.

This is an authentic and genuine oil or acrylic painting from 1988. The painting will be packed safely and shipped within a custom-made plywood box.

Biography:
The artist responsible for this work has not been conclusively identified.

Research undertaken into artists working under the name Pat Scott has revealed several individuals; however, no firm connection can be established between this painting and any documented artist. The title plaque, signature and stretcher inscription all identify the maker as "Pat Scott", but no exhibition records, catalogue raisonné entries, gallery references or published material relating specifically to Planar-Ama have been located.

One notable artist of a similar name is Patrick Scott (1921–2014), while the abstract nature of Planar-Ama and the similarity of name naturally invite comparison, no evidence has been found linking this painting to Patrick Scott. The attribution should therefore remain as "Pat Scott" unless further documentation emerges.

Condition:
The painting is presented in good overall condition. The canvas shows no apparent holes, tears or losses. There is some surface dirt, light surface grime and general age-related handling wear visible upon close inspection. The metal frame displays wear, scratches, scuffs and marks consistent with age and use. The frame does not appear to be an exact fit for the canvas dimensions. The photographs form part of the description; please study all images to fully satisfy yourself as to the condition.

All items are obtained second-hand and may show natural signs of age, including wear, marks, or imperfections. These characteristics contribute to the unique history and authenticity of each piece. Please send a message if you require further images or details about an item.
