Condition Report:
Very good antique condition with a corner chip on lid and base, old stress cracks that are not open but under the surface in the glazing, and NO restorations. Both the base and the lid are structurally intact. As is standard for ironstone of this vintage (over 140 years old), there is fine, uniform glaze crazing across the surface, giving it a wonderful authentic character. The maker's mark is an impressed stamp on the bottom of the base, which is very faint but present.
An exceptional find for collectors of Staffordshire pottery, Aesthetic Movement aesthetics, or antique ironstone dining service.
