Antique, approaching two centuries old set, complete in “one volume” (though bound into two) set of Schiller’s complete works, bound in decorative antique mid 19th century three-quarters leather binding with marbled paper covered hardcover boards. Exteriors of the books are overall clean and well intact with some minor age, use or shelf wear. Hinges of volume I are tight and firm with some minor crackling and there is also some rubbing to the outer corners and edges of the boards and some superficial and smooth shelf wear to the marbled boards’ planes. Front hinge of volume two has some deeper splitting to the leather, though the front cover is still tightly, closely and well connected to the rest of the book via the original binding strings with the back cover having no splitting. Volume I contains the steel plate engraving of Schiller’s statue and after the last numbered page of volume II is the facsimile leaf of Schiller’s handwriting. Volumes throughout have light to moderate foxing and or some minor and occasional soiling with all text well legible or some other minor age, use or handling wear. Books are complete with all pages present and none coming loose, detached or missing. Books have no odors.

Volumes together have one pagination that totals 1260 pages. Both volumes together measure approximately 10 3/8 x 7 x 3 1/2 inches and weigh about 5 pounds.
