2003 (53) MINI Cooper S R53 – Supercharged

For sale is my 2003 (53) MINI Cooper S R53 in Silver with a Black roof. A nice example of a Cooper S in un modified condition.

The car has covered 102,500 miles and has had 5 owners from new. It’s a basic factory standard car with the original grey/black cloth interior, CD player and ice-cold air conditioning. It sits on the factory 16-inch alloy wheels, which give a noticeably more comfortable ride than the 17-inch wheels fitted to many Cooper S models. It doesn’t have a glove box fitted and has basic choices on the digital odo.

Mechanically, the car seems in good shape. It has a good service history with 7 stamped services in the book and has just been serviced, including engine oil, filters, spark plugs and fresh supercharger oil, so it’s ready to be enjoyed.

The only modification is a Milltek sports exhaust (£1500 alone) which gives the car a lovely, subtle tone without being overly loud or intrusive.

FACTS : Being a 23-year-old car, it’s not perfect and is not new, nor will ever be fresh out the box. It has a few age-related marks as you’d expect, including:

• Small patch of rust on the tailgate.
• Small dent on the driver’s side.
• The central locking key housing is worn but still functions correctly.
• The front seat bases would benefit from a deep clean.

None of these detract from what is a nice little car that’s great fun to drive and becoming a modern classic for not a lot of money.
