ANTIQUE UNIS FRANCE 60 MIGNONETTE — FRENCH BISQUE DOLL, 9 INCHES / 22 CM — ORIGINAL COSTUME, "SOUVENIR DE LISIEUX"
MAKER & BACKGROUND
A charming French mignonette marked UNIS France, mould 60. UNIS
France was the trade mark of the SFBJ consortium, used from around
1916 into the 1920s-30s (mould 60 itself dates from around 1910).
This example was originally sold as a pilgrimage keepsake -- it
retains its "Souvenir de Lisieux" medal on the sash, Lisieux being
the Normandy town of Saint Therese, a major pilgrimage destination.
