Design Details
Obverse: there are three narrative compositions separated by stylized hemp ropes. Each of these segments illustrates a key episode from the fairy tale: Kyrylo the Tanner practicing his craft, children appealing to him for help, and the princess being held captive by the dragon. Above are the mint mark of the NBU’s Banknote Printing and Minting Works, the legend УКРАЇНА (Ukraine) and Ukraine’s small state coat-of-arms; beneath, to the right are the coin’s issue year – 2026, the coin’s face value 5, the graphic symbol of the hryvnia, and the legend КИРИЛО / КОЖУМ’ЯКА (Kyrylo / the Tanner).
Reverse: there is a depiction of a battle scene between Kyrylo the Tanner and the dragon, embodying the triumph of human strength, willpower, and justice over destructive evil.
