Trumpeter - Tiger II Porsche Early Production - 1:16 - 1500 parts

With this large-format plastic kit, Trumpeter sets the Pz.Kpfw. VI Sd.Kfz. 182 Tiger II as an early production vehicle with initial turret and chassis number 280009 in 1:16 scale. The kit contains over 1,500 parts and features a full interior design as well as numerous metal and photo-etched parts.

The early tower design with a rounded front and steeply sloping sides gives the model a particularly striking appearance. Due to the large scale and extensive features, the kit is aimed at experienced model builders.

Designs by Henschel and Porsche were initially examined for the heavy tank, later known as the Tiger II. Both concepts were to have a turret developed by Krupp, but differed primarily in the hull, gearbox and suspension. Henschel finally received the production order.

The early tower shape is often referred to as the "Porsche tower", although it was originally intended by Krupp for both designs. Characteristic features are the rounded front, steeply sloping sides and the side bulge for the commander's cupola. A total of 50 of these early towers were mounted on Henschel hulls.
