Offering here is a remnant crusted, 17.12 gram piece of NWA 6560 Howardite Achondrite meteorite, recovered in Morocco's Saharan Desert in 2010.  There were only 5800+ grams found, so this meteorite is considered on the more rare side.  Classified in 2011 as a Howardite in the HED group of meteorites stemming from the asteroid 4 Vesta.  The pictured specimen has remnant black crust with wide areas of exposed matrix and measures approximately 33 mm x 22 mm x 16 mm.  HED meteorites range in age from 4.4 -4.5 billion years ago and is determined to be ejection debris from an impact event on the asteroid body..  The NWA 6560 is mentioned in the "METEORITICAL BULLETIN" #100 (2012).  A display case is included in your purchase.
