Here is a 132 gram slice of NWA 15658 (paired) Eucrite melt-breccia Achondrite  meteorite.  This 2022 recovery from Northwest Africa had a tkw of about 6 kilograms.  This meteorite was likely formed by a powerful impact event on its parent asteroid body.  This meteorite features basaltic rock and mineral grains within a shock-melted matrix composed of brecciated pyroxene and plagioclase. Also of note, is the evidence of chromite, silica, ilmenite and iron sulfide.  Eucrites are part of the HED group of meteorites which are believed to have originated from the asteroid Vesta about 4.5 billion years ago.  The highly polished pictured slice measures approximately 155mm x 55mm x 3mm.  The NWA 15658 Eucrite is mentioned in the 'Meteoritical Bulletin" #112 (2024) and comes with a display case with purchase.
