The copyright page states “First edition” with no number line. Further photographed points include the original unclipped £16.99 dust-jacket price, final numbered page 766 and clear title-page ink offset/transfer onto the facing page which was present in the first prints.
Good used condition overall, with the main wear affecting the dust jacket. The illustrated hardback boards remain presentable and show light edge and corner wear. The removable dust jacket has some creasing, and handling marks, together with some wear around the top of the spine and upper edges.
The page edges show age-related yellowing. The photographed title-page ink offset is a production feature of these early prints rather than later damage. Please ask before purchase if a particular page or detail is important.
