A superlative modernist vase from a great potter in Japan.  Unfortunately we lost the name of the artist but he is a known fairly important Japanese modernist.  The vase was a gift to a US ambassador to Japan in and r around the 70's.  It has been in our collection since the 1990's.  You experts will know who it is.  At the time we had it appraised by someone versed in this kind of Japanese pottery.  It was valued at $1000-1500 at the time.  We are happy to consider offers.  Sorry we don't have more information on the artist. The signature is so stylized, we can't read it.
