Ecuador 1936 1c Train "POSTAL" Overprint Pair – Imperforate Between – SG 527 Variety – Mint

An attractive and increasingly difficult specialist variety from Ecuador.

Offered here is a 1936 Ecuador 1 cent rose "Train" issue with the large black POSTAL overprint, presented as a horizontal mint pair showing the recognised imperforate-between variety.

Originally produced from the railway/tobacco tax issue and overprinted for postal use, this variety is listed as Stanley Gibbons SG 527 Variety and Bertossa No. 391.3.

The pair retains fresh colour and clear overprints, with the imperforate gutter between the two stamps making it an appealing item for collectors of Ecuador, South America, railway themes, postal history and printing varieties.
