Two volume set, "Memories des Contemporains, Marechal Berthier and Comte Reynier, of the Campagne D'Egypte." 2 Volumes, Published in Paris by Baudouin Freres, Editeurs, both dated 1827 on the title pages. The 

The volumes are original and bound in a mottled fine leather with gilt decorations. All three text block edges and the endpapers are marbled. The volume covers show moderate wear to the edges and some pages show light foxing, otherwise the pages are complete, clean and crisp. The hinges and bindings are tight. 

Both volumes have an armorial bookplate for Sir Edward Cholm Dering.

Sir Edward Cholmeley Dering (8th Baronet) was a British Liberal Party politician and landowner who lived from November 19, 1807, to April 1, 1896.

Comte Reynier refers to Jean-Louis-Ebenezer Reynier, a Swiss-French military officer, division general, and author who fought during the French Revolutionary Wars and the Napoleonic Wars.

Louis-Alexandre Berthier, prince de Neuchâtel et Valangin, prince de Wagram (20 November 1753 – 1 June 1815) was a French military commander who served during the French Revolutionary Wars and the Napoleonic Wars. He was twice Minister of War of France and was made a Marshal of the Empire in 1804. Berthier served as chief of staff to Napoleon Bonaparte from his first Italian campaign in 1796 until his first abdication in 1814.
