A beautiful and richly illustrated antique Catholic prayer book published by H. & L. Casterman / Société Saint-Augustin. Although the book retains the original 1886 Imprimatur, internal calendar references suggest this edition dates from the early 20th century.

This exceptional volume features numerous full-page color chromolithographic plates enhanced with brilliant gilt (gold) highlights, as well as decorative black-and-white engravings and ornate initials throughout the text.

One of the most desirable features is that several of the original tissue guards (protective paper overlays) are still present, helping preserve the illustrations in outstanding condition.
