Initialled and dated 'WRK 1895' and titled 'BOADICEA', this is a marine watercolour of the Royal Navy flagship, Boadicea. On the back is written 'Homeward Bound' and a faint inscription that reads 'By Admiral Kennedy of his flagship'. So it would appear that Admiral Kennedy was a talented artist as well as a high-ranking sailor. It measures 9” x 9” and 11.5” x 11.5” including its inlaid maple frame.
