A decorative and unusual mid-century hand-carved wooden table lamp, circa 1950/60s, featuring a seated monkey beneath a stylised palm tree column.

Likely of Indonesian origin, this piece reflects the carved wood export craftsmanship of the period. The monkey is detailed with incised fur texture and softly modelled facial features, rising into a geometric trunk stem with carved leaf collar beneath the fitting.

Light in weight yet visually impactful, it makes a quirky sculptural accent for eclectic, bohemian, safari-inspired or mid-century interiors.
