VTG Looking Wooden Writing Travel Desktop Document / Pen / Inkwell Storage Box

What a great looking desktop box!  It looks to be an antique but unsure so I'm calling it a reproduction.  It is put together with antique nails and I did buy it from an Iowa farm estate sale.   What a great and functional piece of early American Decor, this antique/  reproduction travel storage box. Used in the 18th and 19th century by men and women alike, a case like this wood writing travel desk would store a wiring pen, inkwell, paper, finished document, ink blotters, and more. With several compartments and a removable tray, you can now own a piece of history and store your own inkwells, pens, paper, and other antique writing supplies. The overall dimensions of the storage box measure 10.5 " long, 3.5" deep, and 4.5" tall. The removable tray measures 9.5" long, 2.5" wide, and 1" tall.  Amazing attention to detail went into the manufacturing of this piece, from the aged hardwood and antique finish on the box to the brass hinges and closure with brass accents- a remarkable box, sure to impress a period collector, and a great functional travel case for a writer.
