This is a rare Haida Patent center-draft kerosene/oil lamps manufactured by the Plume & Atwood Manufacturing Company from the late 1800’s. Victorian pull-down lamps used a weighted ceiling canopy and internal pulley system to raise or lower the lamp for lighting and refilling. This lamp has been electrified, and has a long cord that can be plugged in to the wall. It’s disguised by a long chain. It has 2 beautiful, hand painted floral scenes with a blue background. The shades show some wear and tear, but nothing uncommon for its age. There are no chips or cracks. The painting is still very beautiful and vibrant. There is a double frame made out of brass and removable scroll like pieces. It’s absolutely stunning and special, and would be beautiful in any Victorian home!
The entire piece is 40” long. It weighs 14lbs.
The top shade is 14” wide and 5.75” long The bottom part of the lamp is 14” long and 7” wide. The top hanging piece is 24” long.
