This has being a good family vehicle with loads of space, a huge boot and 8 big seats. We are a family of six, including two teenagers, and it’s been incredibly practical for us. For once, everything actually fits when you’re heading away on holiday, and everyone can travel without arguing about whose foot is where.
It’s always got us where we needed to go, including family holidays and trips to Wales, Cornwall and Devon.
The automatic gearbox makes it very easy to drive, the seats are the most comfortable we’ve experienced in any vehicle we’ve owned, and the 2.5 diesel engine feels strong and smooth with plenty of pulling power for towing.
Starts first time, every time, sounds great and drives very nicely.
Good bits:
* Automatic gearbox
* 81,000 miles
* Full service history
* MOT until March 2027
* 8 chunky seats
* Huge boot space
* Strong 2.5 diesel engine so would be good for towing
* Extremely comfortable on long journeys
* New rear brake discs and pads recently fitted
* Starts and drives very well
The reason it’s priced low:
* Bodywork has various cosmetic nocks and scrapes etc in places, as shown in the photos.
* There is an intermittent DPF / engine management light that only appears on longer journeys, tends to be on motorways after a couple of hours of driving. The DPF has been professionally cleaned and the pressure sensor replaced. Hyundai advised it was not heavily loaded with soot when inspected. It has not been an issue for our normal local use and the vehicle starts, drives and performs well and went through the MOT without issue.
* I’ve spoken to various mechanics and had various suggestions, ranging from simply living with it and clearing the code when needed, through to replacing or removing DPF components. We chose not to spend money on that as it doesn’t affect our day-to-day use as a town run around van.
* The side door sensor occasionally thinks the door is open, which can sometimes trigger the alarm overnight. We usually leave it unlocked and every time we’ve returned to it the following day it has locked itself and been absolutely fine.
* Driver’s seat has some wear, which is quite common on these I800's.
* The instrument cluster was replaced by Hyundai previously and is fully documented in the service history. Actual mileage is around 81,000.
This isn’t a new perfect van, but it is a very comfortable, practical and capable automatic 8 seater with full service history and a long MOT, priced accordingly.
We’ve had some great family trips in it and will be sorry to see it go.
