Red Grandis, also known as Eucalyptus grandis, is a strong and stable hardwood with an attractive straight grain. It is a sustainable and affordable alternative to many traditional tropical hardwoods and is well suited to garden furniture when correctly treated and maintained.
Red Grandis can naturally vary in colour from light to dark pink, with occasional grey tones towards the edge of the heartwood.
We also offer premium alternatives in Sapele, which is commonly used as a mahogany alternative, and Iroko, which is widely used as an alternative to teak. Please see our other listings for availability.
Red Grandis offers good durability when correctly treated. For outdoor projects, we recommend applying a suitable exterior-grade oil, stain, paint or protective finish to every face and edge before installation.
Regular treatment and maintenance will help preserve the appearance and lifespan of the timber.
Timber is a natural material, so colour, grain pattern and appearance will vary from one slat to another. These natural variations are not defects and help give every project its own unique appearance.
Free UK delivery is included, allowing you to order the exact number of slats required without purchasing a complete bench set.
Perfect for replacing individual bench slats, restoring old garden furniture, or creating bespoke outdoor seating.
