The ASTERIX & OBELIX French comic strip, 

also know simply as ASTERIX and THE ADVENTURES 

OF ASTERIX, has been in print since 1959 in a variety

of forms.  It was originally written by René Goscinny 

and drawn by Albert Uderzo.  Following Goscinny’s

death in 1977, Uderzo assumed the scripting and 

remained in place until he sold the rights to the strip

to the French publisher Hachette. New books

 continue to be produced under 

the Hachette imprint.
