For sale is an Extremely Rare & Important Original North Korean propaganda book published in Pyongyang in 1951, during the Korean War, by the Union of Democratic Youth of Korea.

English-language edition titled “Korean Youth in the Great Patriotic War for the Freedom and Independence of the Motherland.”

A substantial volume of 139 pages, illustrated with 8 full-page portrait plates depicting officially recognized North Korean war heroes, including six men and two women (pilots, partisans, a military nurse, machine gunner, and other decorated figures).

An early wartime publication documenting the DPRK’s official narrative of the Korean War and its heroic youth. Early English-language Pyongyang publications from this period are seldom encountered on the market.

Condition: overall in a great condition. Spine is a bit damaged as seen in photos. 

A scarce and desirable piece of early North Korean history, Cold War propaganda, and Korean War ephemera.
