Antique 1900 Rookwood Pottery Vase High Glaze 5.5 H x 4" w Arts & Crafts Mission.

Here is a fine example of an American art pottery vase made by the Rookwood Art Pottery of Cincinnati, Ohio, decorated with Crocus Flowers ?  under the company's standard glaze. This vase was made in 1900 - the year after Rookwood was awarded the Grand Prix at the Paris International Exposition held in 1900.  This was the greatest exposition ever held up to that time and the first time an American enterprise was acknowledged as the best in the world for artistic and industrial achievement.  Many awards were to follow in 1901 including the Gold Medal at the Pan American Exposition held in Buffalo, NY, and the Grand Prix at the Exposition Internationale de Ceramiques et de Verrerie held in St. Petersburg, Russia.  The vase is 5.5" tall in shape number 162 D.
