5 Ply Gansey.

This yarn is spun by Shepley in Yorkshire, it is made from pure British wool.

It is a classic 5 Ply Guernsey weight which has been used for generations in the making of Gansey sweaters. The British wool used to make the yarn has a very authentic hand feel and is perfect for making your Gansey!

The count of the yarn is 3000NM and is suitable for 5 gauge knitting machines or for hand knitting is similar to 4 Ply. The colour is “Dover Cream”.

The yarn is clean on cone. The finished knitted article benefits from a light steam as it consolidates the fabric and promotes the hand feel. The total weight of the yarn is 1050g, minus the centre cones 1020g. The total weight including packaging will be 1090g.

I am as careful as possible about the photos being a good representation of the colour, but the colours can vary slightly from the picture. I am more than happy to send you a small sample before you buy if needed.
