RARE & COLLECTIBLE GPO BELL SET NO. 64F (COW GONGS).
On offer is a Very Rare Vintage GPO Bell Set 64F wall-mounted telephone extension bell.
It was produced by GEC, introduced in 1939 and was available until the late 1980's. It was designed strictly for indoor use as there is no weather cowl and gasket.
It is fitted with unusual square bells known as Cow Gongs which have a unique ring to them and were used for people with hearing problems amongst others.
The Cow Gongs measure 2½” x 1½” and are fitted with a magneto bell ringer. Adjustment of the Cow Gongs is by the gong support pillars.
This is in an original and complete condition with the addition of a B.T. landline conversion and is fully working.
This very rare GPO bell set would make an excellent addition to your collection.
