Description

This plate is called Igezara.

Igezara was a type of plate produced mainly in the Imari and Seto regions during the Taisho era.

"Ige" means "thorn" in the dialect of the Imari region, and "zara" (sara) means "plate" in Japanese.

 It is called Igezara because of the jagged edge of the plate.
