Early style Spare Tire cover for Mercedes w123 / s123 300TD Wagon.   Carpet texture is correct for earlier wagons (Although this may fit 1984 and 1985 wagons, those years came fitted with a different texture carpet).

The seller has re-dyed the carpet to be a very close match to the original palomino, which can be seen with the photos which have two random pieces of palomino carpet next to it.  The color is a pretty close match, but no dye will be 100% perfection.   The overal condition of the carpet is not 100% perfect, but after 42+ years this one is very well preserved and finding one in better shape,   will be nearly impossible unless that wagon has always been garaged and has under 100k miles on it.   This will be a great upgrade for nicer a daily driver and is way better than anything you'd find in a junkyard....if you could even find one!

In addition, the seller has repaired and reinforced a hairline crack that was present on the plastic shell using reinforced fiberglass mat on both sides, so that the structure of the spare tire cover is solid.

Also, the seller has repaired (sandblasted down to bare metal and and epoxy coated) both metal pins that are on the bottom, which hold the spare tire cover to the chassis.   On many of these spare tire covers, one or both of these two pins are either missing or damaged, or badly rusted).

Item will be packaged inside a strong box with ample cushioning to ensure safe arrival.  Seller does not skimp or cheap out on packaging and has extensive experience packaging odd shaped items.
