Rare 1949 Early State of Israel Seaman's Book - Low Serial Number -issue for Benyamin Chadad- Served on S.S Kom'miut, S.S Hadar  and S.S. Galila. An Exceptionally Rare Piece of Early Israeli Maritime History original "Seaman's Book" issued by the Ministry of Transport of the newly established State of Israel, dated April 12, 1949. This document belongs to the first series ( serial number 0446) of Seaman's Books issued by the State of Israel just one year after its declaration of independence. . Belonging to a 17-year-old crew member Deck Boy  (born 1932), this book chronicles his service during the critical period of mass immigration to Israel. ​ The book includes official stamps and entries for service on the SS Kom'miut (formerly the famous Aliyah Bet immigrant ship "Pan York") and the SS Hadar and Hand signature of SS Galila.  It documents his service on the Venice-Haifa route, which was vital for transporting immigrants to the young state. ​ Includes original photograph, stamps from the Haifa Port Shipping Master, and detailed service records (Certificate of Service). ​ Good condition, cloth hardcover. 27 pages.
