Jeremy Allen White (born February 17, 1991) is an acclaimed American actor known for his intense and vulnerable performances. He was born and raised in the Carroll Gardens neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, to parents who were former theater actors. As a child, he studied ballet, jazz, and tap dance before shifting his focus to acting in middle school. He is a graduate of the Professional Performing Arts School in Manhattan.
Phillip "Lip" Gallagher in Shameless (2011–2021): This was White's professional breakthrough role. He starred as the academically gifted eldest son of a dysfunctional family on the South Side of Chicago for the show's entire 10-year run.
Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto in The Bear (2022–present): White’s portrayal of a world-class chef returning home to Chicago to manage his family's failing sandwich shop catapulted him to widespread stardom.
