This is an antique Lithuanian spinning wheel's spool flyer. It is one of the main parts of spinning wheel which is an ancient machine that turned fibers into thread or yarn, which were then woven into cloth on a loom. Since there were many different variations of spinning wheels manufactured throughout the history, it is not always easy to find matching spool for your saxon style (horizontal) spinning wheel.  Also, we will be adding additional bobbin that fits this spool. Since bobbins are one of the most fragile part of any spinning wheel, you won't have to worry about the replacement.
