My Dearest Beloved,

Once again I'm writing to remind you that I love you with all my heart, body and soul, and miss you more than ever. I'll always love you Joan darling always.

As you know I have your letter No. 635 to answer, but first I'll tell you what I've been doing.

Being Wednesday I've had the afternoon off so I've slept it out, and I've been to the first house pictures, the film was "Queen of Spades". I thought it was very good indeed, darling.

I thought I had told you that Mum has been living with Daisy, but I couldn't have done darling.

It seems you quite enjoyed "The Great Caruso" darling. I have heard a record of him, but I wasn't awfully keen, as you know darling I don't go for his type of singing, but I'll see either of those films if I get the chance dearest, fourteen weeks...

doesn't sound so very much, does it?

And it isn't very much darling, before you know where you are I shall be telling you what boat I'm coming home on, then soon after that I shall be with you. I don't have to tell you how much I'm looking forward to that day darling.

It's all I've been thinking about ever since that evening at the coach station when I left darling.
