This is a lovely piece of Lignum Vitae that would make a bowl with sap details on top.  The wood measures 2 1/8" to 2 1/4" x 5 7/8" x 6"  See the last paragraph for the complete account of any issues.  I do my best to describe any observed items, as I would want anyone to do for something as personal as a piece of wood.

This is one of the superwoods!  Great wood for plane bodies, carving, mallets, furniture, turned boxes, pool cues, knife scales.  I've included a photos of some planes I've made, two of which are Lignum Vitae as well as turned boxes of other fine exotics.  Perfect wood for ornamental lathe work.  It smells great too!

This piece has been cut for over 20 years, so is highly stable.  This billet some checks.  See photos and crayon marks.
