A stunning Murano Barovier bowl in an organic shape resembling a shell or flower. It was most likely produced on the island of Murano, Venice, Italy, during the mid-20th century, circa the 1950s–1960s.
The Zebrati technique features diagonal strands of gold leaf flecking running vertically through the glass ribs. The design is attributed to the celebrated Italian designer Ercole Barovier. Displaying a rich yellow-amber hue, the bowl incorporates the bullicante (controlled bubble) technique, in which gold adheres to each bubble, creating a distinctive decorative pattern. The result is a striking and beautifully crafted bowl.
Its mesmerising texture and sculptural form make it a brilliant standalone center piece or a sophisticated vessel for small items. Blends seamlessly with Mid-Century Modern, Hollywood Regency, contemporary, or eclectic interior design styles.
