A Victorian rosewood writing slope dating from around 1860–1880, retaining its original working key and brass campaign-style mounts.
The fitted interior includes the original burgundy writing surface, stationery compartments and three concealed drawers hidden beneath the writing surface. The beautifully figured rosewood veneer gives the box excellent decorative appeal and makes it an attractive display piece as well as a practical antique.

Good antique condition overall. The working key is present and the lock functions correctly. Approximately half of the original leather writing surface is missing. Several stationery compartment covers and the panel concealing the secret drawers are absent. There is age-related wear, veneer losses, scratches, ink staining and general wear throughout. The three concealed drawers remain present and functional.
