GERMAN VIOLIN labeled "Joseph Guarnerius Cremonae anno 1719". The two piece back of medium curl, ribs and scroll similar, the top a medium grain, the varnish an orange-brown color, length of back 14 inches. "Conservatory Violin" on shield on back of scroll and "Lowendall Star" on button.
This nice old Lowendall violin is missing its tuners, nut, fingerboard and tailpiece.There is a hole in the top right rib and a crack in the lower right rib. There is also a 3 inch crack on the top that starts at the top of the left "f" hole. This violin is being sold AS IS, AS FOUND with NO RESERVE! Please examine the pictures carefully!
