I have here for sale a book entitled A STUDY OF CHINA'S TRADITIONAL FESTIVALS by Xiyin Shanren.  It was published around the end of the 19th century so I have put 1900 as its date.  The book is in concertina style pages with text on the right and beautiful hand painted watercolour paintings on silk on the left.  There are 10 festivals and 10 paintings in total in the book.  Text in English and Chinese.  The 10 festivals are:

  1. Yuan-Tan (New Year) Greetings
  2. Lantern-Show in Shang Yuan Festival
  3. Cleansing Tombs around Ching Ming Festival
  4. Dragon-Boat Racing in TuanYang Festival
  5. Chung Yuan Festival in memory of deceased family members
  6. Enjoying the Moonlight at Mid-Autumn
  7. Going up to Hills on Double-ninth Day
  8. Thanksgiving for Good Harvests
  9. Offering to the God of Kitchen for his Blessing
  10. Thanks to Heaven in New Year's Eve

Dark brown hardboards with beige and white label to the front board with Chinese characters on it.  A stamp and a sticker to the front inside cover from previous owners - Spencer, Chi Lok Villa, 19th Milestone, Castle Peak, NT, Hong Kong'.  Pages a little sunned but clean throughout.  21 cm x 15 cm.

Postage will be by Air Mail outside of UK.  If you buy more than one item then the postage cost falls for the second and further items as I will put them into one parcel - so you save money. We wrap and post the parcels on Monday and Tuesday - therefore if you pay before midday on Tuesday we will get it in the postal sacks on Tuesday night, and if it is after that time then it will go into the postal service on the following Monday.
