Eldreth Pottery, a family studio, that produced all hand thrown and decorated one-of-a-kind items closed in 2017 after 40 years. Eldreth Pottery was located in Oxford, Pennsylvania and featured Pennsylvania Dutch folk art work in redware, a type of low-fired, porous earthenware made from iron-rich clay, resulting in a distinct reddish-brown color as can be seen on the base of this beautiful piece. You can see the family pride in this piece - even the black glaze partially hidden under the uniformly-rolled rim is applied in special strokes (see photo).
