For sale here I have a nice original Carlton ware Martell brandy promo item , “ Make friends with Martell” … a 50’s bar/pub ornament that featured the Martell man … no lightweight this guy- the glass is actually correct - he obviously downed his Martell by the pint …

He would also have had a cigarette hanging from his mouth … these are so often broken off it’s near impossible to find an original with the ciggy intact …. The monocle I do suspect is original as it was a clear piece of some sort of plastic… could be glass?… I believe- it would have been , if I recall right, wired to Martell’s head but has been a little heavily glued instead as it was probably broken at some point …

Despite the ciggy and reaffixed monocle this is a nice example, all too often the glass is gone or replaced, the monocle too, it has crazing - but they all do- so short of the cigarette this is a nice one in context of ehats available these days , a decent one missing the Monaco’s sold at £170 recently, plenty have made the £100 mark so hopefully this one is keenly enough priced to make it worth adding to the collection….
