Im Zentrum befinden sich der freistehende Markusturm (Campanile) sowie der prachtvolle Dogenpalast auf der rechten und die Biblioteca Marciana auf der linken Seite. Am unteren Bildrand beleben historische Boote und Gondeln das Hafenbecken, während zahlreiche Figuren in zeitgenössischer Kleidung über die Piazetta flanieren.

This rare, hand-colored copper engraving depicts the bustling St. Mark’s Square in Venice, viewed from the water, showcasing the city’s distinctive landmarks. At the center stands the freestanding St. Mark’s Campanile, flanked by the magnificent Doge’s Palace on the right and the Biblioteca Marciana on the left. In the foreground, historic boats and gondolas animate the harbor basin, while numerous figures in period attire stroll across the Piazzetta. The copper engraving was published by Pieter van der Aa (1659 - 1733) in 1729, measures circa 27 x 35 cm (platemark) and  is in good condition.
