Oil on canvas. Signed with the artist's initials "K.J." and dated '77 on the verso.
Provenance:
Collection of Jakob Feldballe, Denmark, with the collector's stamp on the reverse. Feldballe was a Danish art dealer and gallery owner in Kolding (1972–1993)
Presented in its original 1977 presentation, with black linen-covered edges designed to serve as the artwork's integral frame. No additional frame required.
Dimensions: 20 x 25 in. ( 50 x 63 cm)
Certificate of Authenticity (COA) is included.
Condition: Ready to hang. Good overall condition, with age-appropriate wear and minor signs of handling consistent with age. ( see photos).
Kjeld Jensen (1922–1998) was a Danish painter, sculptor, printmaker, and influential educator whose career spanned more than five decades. Trained as a lithographic artist before studying under Rostrup Boyesen, he became a leading figure in Danish post-war modernism. His work evolved from Cubist- and Matisse-inspired compositions to expressive geometric abstraction, drawing inspiration from French modernism, the Bauhaus, and Constructivism. Alongside his artistic practice, Jensen taught for many years at Denmark's leading art and design schools, serving as co-founder and rector of the Kolding School of Arts and Crafts. He exhibited extensively in Denmark and internationally, including multiple appearances at FIAC in the Grand Palais, Paris, where his work received critical acclaim.
