In the 1970s and 1980s I took AMTRAK frequently from Milwaukee to Los Angeles with a two day stopover in Albuquerque.
The Navajo sold all manner of things along the tracks including jewelry and beadwork.
Most of the beadwork was unsigned and although it was sold as Navajo it was probably Mexican (non-Navajo).
New Mexico is home to 23 federally recognized Native American tribes, including the Navajo Nation, three Apache tribes, and 19 distinct Pueblo communities. Each tribe is a sovereign nation with its own government, languages, and cultural traditions.
The Navajo Nation is the largest Native American tribe in the United States in terms of both land area and population. The massive reservation spans across northeastern New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah, with tribal headquarters located in Window Rock, Arizona.
Please study the photos WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) and read entire description for complete details and condition. Although it was sold as Navajo it is probably Mexican (non-Navajo). Not shipped individually wrapped, bagged tightly.
