• Koji Yamamoto is a Japanese former professional baseball outfielder and manager, famed as “Mr. Red Helmet” for the Hiroshima Toyo Carp. Playing 1969–1986, he hit 536 career home runs (4th in NPB history), won 2 Central League MVPs, 4 home run titles, and 10 consecutive Golden Gloves. He led Hiroshima to its first league title in 1975 and three Japan Series wins, later managing the team to the 1991 pennant, and was inducted into the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame in 2008.
